The Girls Next Door on E!, a reality television show that follows the lives of Playboy's Hugh Hefner and stars his three girlfriends, Holly, Bridget and Kendra, has come to an end. So, how did the lovely ladies of The Girl Next Door bid farewell to the mansion and Hef and what are they doing now?
Find out in this special recap of "Transitions Part 1" and "Transitions Part 2."
Holly Madison
Holly Jean Madison was born in Astoria, Oregon (home of the Goonies) though she lived a large part of her childhood in Alaska. As an adult, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue an education. She was discovered by one of Hef's friends during a bikini contest.
After meeting Hugh Hefner and attending parties, she expressed an interest in dating him. After only a couple of dates, Holly moved into the Playboy Mansion. Since then, she has risen through the ranks of playboy, from photo editor intern to junior photo editor at Playboy.
Rumors have it that Holly and Hef tried to have a child together after he made it clear marriage was not in the cards for him. However, his low sperm count mean a baby was impossible.
A new love entered Holly's life in Las Vegas illusionist Criss Angel. Unhappy with her dead end relationship with Hugh Hefner and interested in pursuing her relationship with Criss Angel - Holly made the decision to move out of the mansion.
In "Transitions Part 2," Holly is the last to leave the Playboy mansion. While the media broke the story long before the episode aired, "Transitions Part 2" portrays Hef as the instigator in breaking off the Hugh/Holly relationship.
Today, Holly has purchased a condo in Santa Monica, is dating Criss Angel and quit her job as Playboy's West Coast Junior Photo Editor. Although she has nothing in the works currently - this is not the end of Madison's career.
Bridget Marquart
Bridget Marquardt has been Hugh Hefner's girlfriend almost as long as Holly. For the last seven years, she has pursued her dream of becoming a center fold. More than any of the other girlfriends, Bridget redefined what it meant to be a Playboy Playmate - pursuing her dream despite comments about her age and weight.
Born in Tilamook, Oregan, Bridget grew up primarily in Lodi, California. Bridget was married when she moved in with Hugh Hefner, a decision she did not make lightly. She has her M.A. in journalism and is always pursuing higher education.
Since coming to the mansion, Bridget has become Playboy sweetheart. She has been known to get along with the staff and playing the role of peace keeping through the years, between Holly and Kendra. Always looking for fun activities, Marquardt began to pursue trapeze as a fun way to get in shape. The exercise stuck and she is now addicted. Even putting on a show for Hef on the trapeze in one of the final episodes.
In the last few years, Marquardt has starred in her own radio show, directed her own horror flick and participated in a number of on-screen cameo's.
Though we do not see Marquardt's official exit - her friends and family gather to throw her a giant farewell part as she leaves for a four month trip to film a Travel Channel special, Bridget's Beaches.
Since coming back, she made the decision to leave the Playboy mansion in pursuit of other interests. In the meantime, she has been spotted with a local mystery man on her arm at special events.
Kendra Wilkinson
Kendra Wilkinson was the last of the three stars to move into the mansion. Hugh Hefner met Kendra at on of his birthday parties where she was dressed as a painted lady. The pair has been together every since.
In "Transitions Part 1" Kendra tells her family that she is moving out of the Playboy mansion to pursue her own interests and a relationship with football star Keith Baskett. Later, it was announced that she and Baskett became engaged.
Since leaving the mansion - Kendra Wilkinson has been offered her own reality show on E! which will focus on her new role as housewife and explore living on her own without the help of mansion staff
Kendra became the most controversial of the three when she announced that she had cheated on Hef during their five year relationship.
More Girls?
The final episode introduced the Playboy twins that Hef has added to his girlfriend posse. While Hef will not be in short supply of women to keep him company, Holly, Bridget and Kendra hope the new girls are grateful for the path they had carved for up and coming girlfriends.
The last two episodes were full of tears and nostalgia. Hopefully we will see the three together soon!
